"Office Hours with Dr. De Veau" - The Replay

Each week, all subscribers to “What’s Up in the Academy?” will receive the replay of the past week’s “Office Hours with Dr. De Veau”. This first replay features last week’s guest, Dr. David Vacchi. During the show we discussed Veterans on Campus and how they not only graduate at high rates, but how they also contribute to the diversity of the campus community. We also got into a discussion of how higher education can learn from the success of Veterans and apply it to other student identity cohorts.

It was a great conversation, and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. I would also be remiss if I didn’t plug David’s book, Straight Talk for Veterans. As I said in the introduction to the replay, it is a great book, and if you are a campus leader looking to create a comprehensive transition program for veteran students, pick up a copy and give David a call. You can find him on Linked in.

This week, “Office Hours with Dr. De Veau will be featuring our Pride show! I am looking forward to the conversation with Alex Cabal, Director of the Center for Diversity & Social Justice Programs at Wentworth Institute of Technology (MA). Alex is also the former co-chair of the NASPA Gender & Sexuality Knowledge Community, and is the current NASPA Region I Regional Director. Join us Thursday, June 24 at 3:30 PM EDT exclusively on Fireside Chat.

Please feel free to share this edition of the replay.
