To paraphrase a well worn saying, “The definition of insanity is posting the same job description and\over and over and expecting better candidates and outcomes.” I have written about the “great resignation”, hosted pod discussions about it, and met with clients about how to find their way out of their current jobs and into their next best option. I feel like employment is a major focus of our daily conversations and considerations as leaders and as humans seeking possibilities of our own.
But yet, I see that especially in mid and senior level postings we are continuing to make the tired old job postings relevant again. Completely ignoring how the last two years have impacted our organizations and the world of work. It is disappointing that we are not being more open to broader consideration of credentialing, rather than being fixated on the norms of the past. Candidates, especially those who will need to lead teams, must have strong academic credentials and supporting experiences.
