Attacks on classroom teaching and learning has become a consistent news story. Whether the bullseye is on critical race theory, Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” Bill, or the banning of books, it is no wonder that individuals are feeling a degree of whiplash as we wrap our heads around what is happening in the K-12 sector. Teachers are leaving the classroom due to threats of legal action as well as bullying and threatening behaviors from parents, politicized school boards and community members who are ginned up from misinformation and frenzied conspiracy theories. The agenda for K-12 is clear, cruelty, division and content control are what are being implemented, and our children, civil society and equality will suffer. And by the way - if you think it is going to stop at K-12, you need to open your eyes.
