Last week the colors of Autumn popped and it’s now my happiest time of year. October brings with it colorful natural backdrops, seasonal aromas and my wedding anniversary. I remember when picking our wedding date I thought about the seasonal color wheel. I’m an autumn, and having the world be my color quadrant felt like a good idea.
For some HigherEd professionals, autumn is when our campuses really POP. I would argue like me, Northern campuses are "autumns” on the color analysis wheel. We all look cozy in our turtlenecks, our pashmina scarves and our college hoodies against a backdrop of burnt orange, burgundy and yellow. It’s also a time where campus engagement takes us outside, with tabling, pep rallies and family weekend. We are at our best when the temperatures dip and we are layered up; moving in and out of our old, drafty buildings that we pridefully admire.
