This spring semester I am teaching three courses in graduate programs in higher education and student personnel - but at two universities and in both in person and online modalities. The diversity of learners is notable. I have scholars in my classes who are fresh out of their undergraduate experience, and others who are well over a decade into their careers. Teaching in the spring semester has always brought with it the extra ‘tension’ of it being search season in HigherEd and as such the buzz before class, in my office hours (which yes, people are attending) is not only focused on the course content but on the work futures of these students.
