It’s lunchtime and you open your refrigerator to find several options, deli meat, fixins for a salad, leftovers from dinner two nights ago. Enough to choose from and a hearty lunch will be made. Perhaps you have to pick the fastest, the lightest, the most high in protein … but there are guardrails and little emotional connection to the lunchtime decision. But let’s say about an hour before, a friend sends you a text, tells you they will be in your area at 12:30 and they would love to take you to lunch? That changes things - it adds emotion to the decision making process.
