Summer is here, and with that, it’s essential to plan in order to maximize whatever flexibility of time you may have ahead. Who among us has not gone into the summer with far too lofty goals, only to come out of August feeling like we have little to show for ourselves except an awkward tan line and an embarrassingly small number of items started—but not finished—on our to-do list?
For each of you, I hope these essential buckets of productivity make their way into your planning:
Professional Growth & Learning.
Consider what you want to take on for the year ahead. Enroll in a course, seminar, or attend a symposium. Make sure it’s relevant and that you can put the content to use immediately.
Next month, I will be attending a seminar on utilizing Case Studies at Harvard Business School. I am excited to have two days to focus on incorporating cases into my teaching.
Personal Well-being & Self-Care.
Whatever this may mean to you, remember it is YOURS and YOURS ALONE. Indeed, we may need to consult experts to help us achieve our goals here, but to truly succeed in this arena, we must have a team of cheerleaders and coaches on our side.
