In the mid-1990’s I lived in Indiana, PA while working at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I cherish the memories and the wonderful professionals that I continue to be in touch with. I do not, however, cherish the Groundhog. Punxsutawney, PA was home to a satellite campus of IUP and one where students studied in their hospitality program. And while very few students lived in “Punxy” at the time of my employment, hundreds flocked there every February to see the rodent in what can only be described as an alcohol fueled bacanal.
