Musings on Belonging

Taking time to immerse yourself in a space where you are seemingly a fish out of water takes an emotional energy that can truly empty one’s tank. Recently, I traveled with my daughter’s robotics team to the world championships in Houston, Texas. I chose to tag along because of a variety of personal reasons, but most notably I feel that I have not been able to contribute to the team as much as I typically would. You see I am not an engineer, and while I’m pretty savvy with an Allen Wrench and some IKEA furniture, that is about the extent to my ability to put stuff together.
