Pass the mashed potatoes and the cranberry sauce, there's something to be thankful for this season: the new and improved 2025-26 FAFSA! The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has undergone a significant overhaul, and early reviews suggest this version is a step in the right direction. Dare I say, the FAFSA has rizz!?!

While the 2025-26 FAFSA form isn't changing dramatically from last year's major revision, the U.S. The Department of Education has worked to "significantly improve" the FAFSA experience. The form, which opened on November 21, 2024, promises a smoother process.
