Friday Replay: Midterm Elections & Campus Voting
With Guests: Stephanie King, ALL-IN Campus Democracy Challenge & Michael Burns, Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project
In 1971, the 26th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, lowering the national voting age to eighteen. The amendment stated that the right to vote “shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age.”... However – “Young People Don’t Vote” has a cry heard for far too long. But is it accurate? And if so, are voter registration laws, gerry meandering and other actions at the state level working against mobilizing young voters to go to the polls? We are joined by experts from leading civic engagement and voting organizations, ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge & Campus Voter Project will join us to discuss this timely topic.
