As I sit in my friend's cozy and warm Provincetown home, pink wreaths adorning the windows, I'm struck by the symbolism they represent. These aren't your traditional green and red decorations; they're a vibrant celebration of uniqueness, love, and chosen family.
Chosen families provide us with a source of respect, mutual support and love. For those in the LGBTQ+ community, these chosen families serve as a lifeline, providing the emotional and psychological support that some may not receive from their biological families. As a ally to the queer community I have always played a maternal role, committed to our chosen family’s well-being.
