Cutting at the Flagships

A warning sign for us all

“This is the way it’s always been.” You can hear it, can’t you? In my opinion, this statement is the single most maddening sentence uttered on campus. We are dealing with a lot of challenges in higher education right now ranging from a crisis of trust, the collapse of DEI programs, a perceived lack of ROI from students, etc. Some of these challenges are contrived by external forces seeking to make our lives miserable. But, let’s be honest we cannot blame EVERYTHING on the outside. We need to turn the mirror on ourselves.
